About Us
Child in Need Uganda is a leading non-governmental organization (NGO) that is dedicated to ensuring that every child and mothers in Uganda is educated, fed, healthy, and protected. The future depends on the children of now, and Child in Need can empower children and women with the tools they need to learn, improve, and succeed.
Receiving quality education, great meals, expert healthcare, and more can change a child’s trajectory in life. It empowers less privileged children and mothers with a unique opportunity to break free from the cycle of poverty and become self-reliant and independent. They can pull out their community, families, and country away from crisis towards the beacon of progress.
Our Team:
CINI is a registered non-profit NGO with hundreds of professionals working to improve the lives of children and mothers across Uganda. Our Governing Body oversees projects, and our work is made up of experienced academics, administrators, practitioners, and experts.
Located in Bulenga, we work predominantly in Wakiso communities and surrounding areas, assisting millions of people. As the leading charity dedicated to children, we are proud of the work we have achieved and look forward to contributing even more.
Our Mission:
To ensure that children, adolescents, and mothers can have access to basic rights of education, nutrition, health, and protection by helping communities increase response to overall wellbeing.
Our Vision:
To create a responsive and conducive community where children can achieve their full potential.
Our Work:
Child in Need Institute Uganda sims to empower children, adolescents, and women so that they can take on control of their lives. They should have a bigger share of sustainable development that can ensure their success. We actively work to help deprived communities at every level of Uganda. We want to break the cycle of poverty and address ill health, malnutrition, violence, early marriage, and illiteracy among children.
We work to strengthen local communities by enabling local governments to act in a timely and effective manner. All available resources are used to identify local solutions that have the highest likelihood of sustainable success. All programs include development, implementation, and evaluations. We hope to create a network of capacity development, training, and care that can serve all marginalized communities.
Our Collaborations
CINI exists as a facilitator to foster a better relationship between the government and the people. Our work is dedicated to social justice and development by fostering ally-ship among different core governance actors to ensure basic services and fundamental rights are fulfilled and of quality. We want to ensure that local communities and stakeholders are a key part of the decision-making processes.
Building partnerships is how to work with and for children and women. We have partnered with the United Nations, bilateral organizations, the government of Uganda, national donors, international donors, grassroots networks, and more. We also make sure that community organizations, local representatives, self-help groups, youth groups, and service providers are all part of the conversation and benefit from our work.
CINI seeks to adapt national and international knowledge and local experiences to improve the capacity development of local stakeholders. We strive to learn from the community itself and improve conditions with sustainable, local solutions.
